Shoes & Hats Giveaway!

The time has come to give away the last few remaining items for Run4Purpose.  To qualify for this week's prizes, you must make a comment below stating a goal, a promise, or a vow (to yourself or for another person) that is related to some sort of healthy lifestyle.  It can be to run a marathon, to lose 30 lbs., start a running club, encourage someone to live healthy, or even change your overall diet.  Make a change, live your life, and live for a purpose.

Good luck all!

Sorry about the backwards pictures.  Didn't have a camera on me at the moment and the computer flips the picture.  Enjoy trying to read it!  ;-)

The drawing will be Friday, October 28th so make sure to add your comment on what goal you would like to achieve or how you can help influence other people to live a healthy and purposeful life.

I vow to continue reshaping my mostly sedentary lifestyle to incorporate more physical activity - mostly running. I try to run about 3 times a week. I want my son to grow up running and exercising with his dad, not sitting on the couch watching tv. Thanks!

I have made a commitment to myself to lose weight and become healthy. My doctor and I set a goal for me to execise 3 days a week for 30 minutes. I have far surpassed that goal. I have been averaging losing about a pound a week. I now eat lots of fruits and vegetables. My latest goal is to see how many days I can get a workout in without missing a day, even if it is simply a 30 minute alk at lunch.

I'm not sure I even deserve new shoes because my current goals are small, like being able to walk and talk simultaneously. Would bouncy new shoes work for that? In general I'd like to be healthier, like myself more, save my marriage, be able to try things skinny people can do like zip lines and horseback riding, and lose 135 pounds--not necessarily in that order, unsure of timeline. My medium-term goals are --in the next 9 months, one week, 2 days --to get back my mojo and replace the sneakers with the toe-holes.

I would like to continue my progress and improve my times by doing some more structured training and taking part in more races.

Perhaps even join the local running club as there are several near me but it would be every helpful in motivating me through the winter.
